For over 35 years, Ed McCaffrey has been passionate about people. Those he meets for the first time and those he has know for many years, both in his personal life and in business. After a short 5 years in the chemical research field with Uniroyal Chemical and 30 years (can you believe it) with Cabot Corporation (Boston based), in Field Technical Service and Sales Management, Ed “retired” in 1999 from the corporate scene. Then after a couple of years of travel and volunteer work, he started a new career in Real Estate. “I talked to a couple friends who were in real estate and they encouraged me to get my license but cautioned me that it’s very competitive.” In about 7 days, I signed up for the required course work, passed the state exam and went into real estate full time.
During the course of the last 4 years, Ed expanded his knowledge of real estate by obtaining an e-PRO designation. This course is designed to provide real estate professionals with the technology tools necessary to assist consumers in the purchase or sale of their home.
In addition, he just completed the GRI designation which is an extensive advanced series of courses covering all aspects of real estate including finance, new construction, ethics, contracts, and new technology, to name a few.
Ed is now a certified EcoBroker® and understands energy efficiency and environmental features of homes to assist buyers and sellers with this very timely subject. Working with an Ecobroker helps you market your property to the growing number of green-minded consumers and gets your listing the attention it deserves!
Just this past year, Ed earned his ABR Designation (Accredited Buyer Representative) where he joins 30,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the ABR designation - all were required to complete a comprehensive course in buyer representation and and elective course focusing on a buyer representation specialty, both in addition to submitting documentation verifying professional experience.
With continuing education and GMAC's Premier Service process, he is well prepared to assist buyers and sellers with their real estate needs.
